NGC2438

The planetary nebula NGC 2438 glows like a smoke ring in the star field of M46.
NGC 2438 appears to sit within M46 in Puppis; the superposition is a line‑of‑sight effect, not necessarily a physical association.
Despite 65% humidity and low elevation, the bright, round core region with its fine ring stands out clearly.
About 15 minutes total exposure at 250 mm f/5 suffice for this compact planetary nebula.
