NGC6572

NGC 6572 glows tiny and turquoise, an extremely compact planetary nebula.
Planetary nebulae are the shed envelopes of Sun-like stars; NGC 6572 is known to appear blue-green visually and very compact, also called the "Blue Racquetball Nebula".
100 short exposures condense the near-stellar glow, despite only 17.7° elevation and moist air.
At 250 mm focal length the form stays essentially stellar, underscoring its exceptional surface brightness.
