M3

Even with a very short exposure, M3 betrays its dense, grainy nature.
This well-known globular cluster resides in the Galactic halo and stands out even in small instruments.
At 6.9° altitude, despite the brief exposure, core concentration and a faint outer halo are apparent.
The wide field emphasizes the cluster’s isolated presence in the spring sky.
