A quiet elliptical galaxy, a gentle patch of light above the horizon.
Elliptical galaxies like NGC 5846 show a smooth, spheroidal light distribution without spiral structure, often found in galaxy groups.
The low elevation damps contrast and color; even so, the extended, diffuse halo stands out clearly from the star field.
At 250 mm the galaxy remains small, and long total time helps lift the faint outer light.
