About this celestial object

The slender needle of NGC 4762 sweeps through the Virgo region as a near‑edge‑on galaxy.

NGC 4762 appears nearly edge‑on and thus shows a long, narrow streak of light—a textbook example of the flat galaxies in Virgo.

So close to the horizon, contrast is at a premium; many short frames improve sharpness and definition despite haze.

Captured at 250 mm and f/5.
