NGC2946

NGC 2946: distant, quiet—and close to the horizon.
As a far-distant galaxy it appears as a fine, diffuse brightening—the collective glow of a stellar system at cosmic distance.
Its low position in the sky challenges the observation; serial exposures temper seeing and extinction.
Around 56 minutes total exposure at 250 mm f/5.
