About this celestial object
Gossamer and distant: NGC 2933 above the horizon line.
This faint background galaxy gathers the light of countless stars, yet stands out from the star field only as a fine oval.
Near the horizon the atmosphere suppresses contrast; the long series lifts the weak signal out of the noise.
A good 64 minutes of integration at 250 mm and f/5.
