NGC2830

A small island of stars in late winter: NGC 2830 near the horizon.
As a far-off galaxy, NGC 2830 remains in the telescope a fine, compact speck of light—typical of remote systems.
At just under 5° altitude and in humid air, 81 short exposures helped to average the background smoothly.
Captured at 250 mm and f/5.
