NGC2359

NGC 2359, Thor’s Helmet, glows as a storm‑shaped gas bubble in Canis Major.
This emission nebula is inflated by the winds of a hot Wolf‑Rayet star; its arcing “wings” make it unmistakable.
An hour of exposure at 250 mm brings out the faint glow despite dense air near the ground.
The F/5 setup uses the wide field to include the nebula’s surroundings atmospherically.
