NGC185

About this celestial object

NGC 185 presents as a tranquil, elliptical patch—another companion of Andromeda.

Together with NGC 147, NGC 185 belongs to the Andromeda subgroup: spheroidal, gas‑poor, and dominated by older stars.

388 exposures strengthen the faint halo glow; the low elevation demands a gentle hand with contrast.

A 250 mm refractor at f/5 provides the even wide field for this unassuming target.
