M77

With short exposures, M77 draws attention chiefly through its compact active nucleus.
As a bright Seyfert galaxy, M77 shows a dominant core surrounded by fainter spiral arms.
At 8.1° altitude and 72% humidity, the series of 72 × 10 s collects mainly core light; longer exposures would aid the outskirts.
The 250‑mm f/5 rendering emphasizes the compact character in the wide star field.
