M27

M27, the Dumbbell Nebula in Vulpecula, displays its bifurcated gas cloud impressively across a wide field.
M27 is one of the largest and brightest planetary nebulae; two lobes form the eponymous dumbbell, surrounded by a delicate halo.
With a little over an hour and a half of exposure, the structure stands clearly apart from the starry background in Vulpecula.
At f/5 and 250 mm the nebula fits comfortably in the frame—an ideal scale for structure and surroundings.
