IC1396

IC 1396 spans a delicate H‑II region with dark trunks in Cepheus.
The region hosts active star formation; the striking dark nebula “Elephant’s Trunk” nestles into the glowing gas.
161 short exposures (just under 27 minutes) at 20.3° altitude and 75% humidity were collected with 250 mm f/5—ideal for showing structure and surroundings together.
Thus bright knots and sweeping dark lanes emerge in balanced fashion.
